How old is your pup? Often times bad breath is indicative of tooth decay, and or gum disease. So you should examine her gums and teeth. Also btw tell / call your vet about this.
A very young pup will often times have a milky kind of smell.
Now if the coat smells bad, you should check the skin everywhere. Part hair if needed. Look for any anomalies on the skin. Discoloration, bumps, or bruises.
A healthy clean dog should not smell "bad" - ie have an unpleasant odorous smell.
