Also, we wound up using baby receiving blankets because we were bad at potty training our first puppy and he was a slow learner (I'd like to think that had a tiny bit to do with it lol) so we could just throw them in the washer when a few were dirty and always had extras for a bed.

Yes that on the breeder keeping the pup till 12 weeks!!!
Also, if you want, you can consider an ex-pen in addition to (or like I did instead of) a crate. Start doing research on good quality food, good shampoo, (DO NOT USE HUMAN PRODUCTS!!) and start setting up a schedule of when you will be taking your baby to potty.
