In general, puppies poop more than adults, but I'd think 5 times a day is a little excessive. It most likely is the food since it contains lots of by-products and fillers. My favorite kibbles are Orijen and Acana.
Orijen has a puppy food, and Acana is an all life stages food. There's a few others I like and recommend, such as Nature's Variety, Fromm, Wellness, Go!/Now!, etc.
