My Bichon, Hobbes, had IBD and went the Flagyl, antibiotics and Prednisone route. The regular vet referred us to a specialist. Our vet at the animal specialty hospital changed him to Wellness Whitefish and Sweet Potato after doing a colonoscopy for diagnosis and it calmed down. After years of the Wellness he developed kidney stones and had surgery for that. The ER vet felt IBD was an allergic reaction to protein. He had other skin allergies also and a lit bit of Benadrly spray would relieve those when they popped up. He lived for 17 1/2 years and only had an occassional tummy rumble. If hope he is doing better.
