If you look at my post, 1st picture, you can see the grey seatbelt (Lap portion) that is strapped over the seat, behind Abby. That holds the car seat down. The seat comes with ONE strap that 'bridges' between the seatbelt and the dog's harness. I purchased an additional strap so that I could have both dogs in the seat. I believe that the 'regular' lookout is pretty small; so 2 dogs will be tight. I have the Lookout Oversize II. There is also one called the "Buddy" but I have heard that is HUGE. You have to order a seatbelt extender to help the seatbelt go over it.

The car seat isn't as complicated as it sounds. My dogs love it. They can look out without having to stand up.
