The standard says "White tip at the end of the tail".. most of the time, the Piebald or the Irish spotting gene displays with a "spot" at the base of the tail... If everyone would just look up "spotting gene" on the internet.. that answers many questions. Also I believe the standard states "up to seven lbs" .. of course in Germany they don't use lbs so it's not exact.
