I always suggest this site- Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble. It gives a pretty good description of why food is good or bad.

I currently feed my GSD raw and will switch my Biewer to raw when she hits 6 months.

Everyone is going to have differing opinions on food, but most will say to stay away from anything corn, and try to find a food that the first ingredient(s) are meat. Again I like the site listed above because it explains different foods.
