Help/Ideas please Today was a big day for us, as our little miss Abby had 3 puppies. This is the first time we have gone through the process of a C-section delivery.
Although Abby and puppies are doing great, Abby does seem to be afraid of them, and not really wanting to nurse. I had to put her in a kennel and close her and the pups in so that she would stay with them. Now the vet said that because they were delivered with her asleep this behavior was normal, and she would "kick in" the momma ways.
I just wanted reassurance, i guess from other Yorkie owners that something like this was normal. I feel like there is something I could be /should be doing other than watching and making sure they are warm and with her.
Any thoughts or ideas, heck even words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. |
