Please put tags on your furbutts! On my way home this morning, my daughter and I ran across a very old basset mix female. She had a collar, no tags. We spent the last 2 hours walking our neighborhood with her trying to find her home.
Finally, one of my neighbors said they 'thought' it might belong to another. We went to her house and they weren't home, but the gate was slightly open. The sweet girl walked right in and threw herself down on the grass!
99.9% sure we have the right place, I looked at my neighbors FB profile and there is a dog that looks just like her. Guess we'll see. The whole time I was walking, I was dreading needing to call animal control if we couldn't find her home. A small tag would have made things less stressful for both of us!
I know a lot of people don't like collars on yorkies. But even a small break away cat collar with a name and # could make the difference between getting your dog back or not.
*Steps off soap box*
