I know the feeling all too well... did you have to go to the melanoma screening clinic at the RVI? thats where I went when the birth mark on my leg started to change colour and go funny, I hate the place.
I had to have it removed too but because it was quite large and on my shin I had to have two operations under anesthetic.
This was last year before I got Poppy, but my older dog Jess wouldnt leave me alone after my op's.. she was constantly fussing over me and always sitting at my side.
I really do think they can sense these things and feel that they need to protect you.
Even with Poppy being so small she will still want to protect you.
