I frankly think you have been pretty rude too.
However, as to your question, maybe there is a female in heat somewhere within a few miles of your home and Philly is just the lucky recipient of his affections.
I'm serious when I say this just may be behaviour you are going to have to live with now. Not trying to be rude, just realistic. The dynamics between your dogs have changed now.
