I didn't say not to let him see you clean it up, I said to ignore his bad behavior and just act like nothing happened. My Zoe does the same thing after I clean up her occasional messes, but I don't think it has anything to do with making us feel better. I think that our dogs think that we are their mothers and they are "thanking" us for cleaning up their mess, partly because she does the same thing after I clean her "privates" (since she refuses to clean them herself), and after I give her a bath. But everyone has their own theories !
