Walks are out of the question for now for Prince because of the heat here. We play ball for a few minutes a couple of times a day, but I have to be careful that he doesn't get too tired. Sometimes we just walk around the house (inside).
Small kids pool have him walk on lead in this. Cool exercise and water resistance is very good for joints and muscles, and also some cardio.

Ball playing is short intense bursts of activity. If he loves to play ball, do so in a pool, he will keep cool and he can't run too fast in the pool.

Start off with short times in pool, on lead and walk him around in it. YOu could get into pool as well, great for your feet
