I have refused sales to people with young large dogs because of this. Too many yorkies have been crippled or killed in this scenario.
Agree - Our practice is when we are not at home all dogs are crated. At night our Yorkie is crated in our bedroom, and all the dogs sleep in the bedroom with us.

When we travel all dogs are crated. The only time all our dogs play together is when we are swimming with them. And even then only two dogs out at a time together. We do walk the dogs together on lead, but off lead only the two large dogs go off lead together, and our Yorkie will be off lead when the two large dogs are on lead.
