Scarlett is going to have an extremely thick coat and she loves to roll around and rough house. Unfortunately she also HATES being brushed out. So what can I do to minimize the stress on her and me as her coat is growing back out?

Thanks.
Is the coat a soft or cotton coat, or a silk coat? Coat type can make a big difference as to whether or not you can keep it mat free or not.
Cotton/soft coats, forget it, it doesn't work you are going to be stuck keeping it relatively short.
A fine silk will be harder to keep mat free but will require diligent brushing.
Some silk types are easy to keep mat free even when it is longer in length.
