I agree with everyone. Mine wear collars for their tags, but I walk with a harness. When Sophie was a puppy, I found a harness/leash combo that had a slide to tighten it. It was very useful since it grew with her, but I must add that I would take your new baby anywhere where she could get lose and get away or get hurt. Sophie could wiggle out of it sometimes.
