When we travel to Florida our girls go with us and they aren't confused at all...they just run inside and head for the doggie door to the back patio. They don't have adjustment issues going there or returning to our home here. Megan enjoys the road trip more than Maddie Jo...she isn't crazy about the 'riding' part but she loves the stops along the way. Although, we'll be going in a new vehicle this year and she hasn't been sick in this one so maybe she'll do better on the road now.
When we go back and forth I always take their food bowls and placemat from home...their doggie beds and their toys...that way they have something familiar to them and it helps. I also take their food (and find out where I can buy their brand in Florida) and I take some of our water to mix with the water there so they don't get an upset tummy. |
