That is why it is important to vaccinate against rabies. It could be bats, raccoons, opossums and who knows what else may come in contact with our furkids. One day many years ago I was hanging laundry...I have the kind that has two t-poles and three lines stretched out on them...so I was in my yard not on a porch. I turned around and there was this raccoon kinda stumbling around. In less than two minutes the poor thing died, animal control said it most likely was rabid.
Point is these animals can come out of nowhere and be in your yard in an instant. I don't know about your Yorkies but Bentley is interested in anything in HIS yard and wouldn't hesitate to go up to something. |
