We had a toy poodle who was about 5 years old when I had my first baby. The biggest thing I will stress is that you have to let the dog sniff around on and get close to the baby right away. Once I let Dax (the poodle) do that, he was quite satisfied with the new addition. Also, be sure to show plenty of attention to the dog - let her sit in your lap while you're holding the baby, etc. That will help a lot with jealousy issues.
