And while the topic is open, a MLV vaccine does need to be given at least once after the immune system is fully mature (so puppy shots would not qualify unfortunately). Of course some dogs would be protected by pup shots alone, but not all. And while giving the last one at one year is what studies are looking to point to, it really still isn't known with absolute certainty that this will cover them for life.
