I live in NY and its REQUIRED BY LAW to get your dog vaccinated from rabies EVERY 3 years. I will continue to follow this law for the safetly of my animals and family. They are put in place for a reason.
Rabies is not an illness I want to mess with.. you dont have to live with WILD LIFE to get rabies.. bats, rats, racoons, foxes, coyotes.. hell even bears, wonder into cities and suburbs. Anyone or anything can be bitten etc.. Why take that risk????
My vet works out of a very small building with only 2 rooms and 4 employess.. shes not it for the money and honestly I am so TIRED of hearing that statement.
To the OP,
Im sorry that you had to go through that with your pup. Honestly, I dont have anymore advice that what has been given. One of my little dogs also has a small reaction and when he was ready for his puppy boosters I gave him benedryl before we left and it helped a ton, he wasnt bothered by the shots at all. I wish you the best of luck..
