My kitten and puppy are really close in age so it might make a difference, i don't really know, but we had our kitten since she was seven weeks and when we brought home our yorkie the kitten was just not having it. She did the things your cat is doing but now they play together all the time. They do get on each other's nerves occasionally though just like brother and sister but thats when our kitten will just go on top of the dresser and take a nap
So i think it could be very possible that your cat will at the very least tolerate your new puppy eventually.
