Our Mikki is 2 1/2 y.o. and also has mild to moderate seizures about 3 to 6 weeks apart. The vet calls it 'idiopathic epilepsy' (sp?) When she feels a seizure coming on she always comes to us. We then hold her and cover her eyes b/c that seems to help her. The seizure lasts about 30 seconds to a minute. Mikki is NOT on any medication b/c we were told that als long the seizures are not more frequent it is tolerable and the medication can have severe side effects. We never could figure out why she has seizures or what triggers them. After a seizure she is a bit tired but back to her old self in no time.
I hope your little boy will have no more seizures and if he does that it is as manageable for you as it is for us! |
