He had a seizure without any other symptoms. He was sleeping, and then he just flew off of the love seat and stumbled to where I was sitting on the couch.
We went to the vet today and I really do not know how I feel about the answers I was given. They took Beau in another room to do blood work and the doctor sat down and started asking me about his seizure. After describing it, he said that he had a mild/moderate seizure. He then said that Beau would definitely have another seizure in his lifespan. So after describing more information he left the room and then came back and said that Beau was very healthy and that he was positive that his blood work would come back negative and that his seizures would not be caused from his heart or liver. Well then he went on to telling me Beau was most likely epileptic and would need to be put on medication (Phenobarbital) after he has his next seizure.
I guess I am just a little overwhelmed and he did not seem to answer any of my questions. I do not understand how my dog can be healthy and that his blood work will come back negative, but then in the same breath tell me that he will have more seizures and is probably epileptic.
