Hold up the tail, place your thumb and forefinger at the five and seven o'clock positions outside the circumference of the anus. If the sacs are full, you should be able to feel them, about the size of a pea. I never empty them myself, too chicken, but get the vet/vet tech to do it. But first, if I do feel something there, I'll try the Epsom Salt treatment and often, that will save a trip to the clinic! |
