I'm so sorry! It had to be some internal infection of some kind. I'm thinking intestinal or uterine if she wasn't spayed. It doesn't matter really - they can't talk, and our vets do an exam, but they can't do a complete workup each visit - I just feel for you so much. Let us know if you find out, it may save another baby somewhere. There is nothing you could have done though. My Sabrina had a uterine infection and her life was only saved because at the very last minute before another minor surgery I decided to go ahead and have her spayed. The Dr said she would have died in a week from the internal infection and we would never have known. Such a close call. I hope you find something out just to ease your mind. Prayers coming your way -
