Post my kitten went into heat..

So i currently have two pets- 4 month old Denali(our baby boy yorkie) and 5 month old Margarita(our baby girl kitten). We got Margarita first when she was seven weeks old and we got Denali when he was fifteen weeks old. They are both absolute dolls and my babies. Well earlier this week our kitten went into her first heat-we woke up one morning and she was being very very affectionate and acting different than her normal self so i researched online and called the vet and both assured me that my little girl was in heat. I was hoping that we would be able to get her spayed before her first heat but since that didn't work out we have been keeping a close eye on her. She is normally a very loving girl with me and my boyfriend but has wanted less to do with us and more to do with our puppy. She rolls around on the floor in front of him and does the little walk in place thing. I think she has picked him or something and is obviously trying her hardest to get his attention. I feel like that is really weird though because wouldn't she know that he is a dog and she is a cat? She has even been letting him bite her ears and tail(basically just being extremely passive) when normally she hisses or swats him away(no nails when she does this) to warm him that she isn't in the mood to play. It concerns me because Denali takes advantage of her actions and will go up to her and play and then once he realizes she wont stop him he gets kinda rough. I know that he is just doing this because he is a puppy and because Margarita is not stopping him anymore and because of this i am having to watch them like a hawk when they play because i am afraid that Margarita will get hurt.

So basically I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experiences that they could share with me or advice on anything i should know considering I've never dealt with a cat in heat and also I've never dealt with the situation between my kitten and puppy. Thanks eveyone
