These type of breeders DO breed for profit, making a living off the backs of dogs that know a life only in a kennel. They are not pets to breeders like this.
Her telling you this vet is one of the best doesn't really mean anything, I mean how would you know any different? I'm sure he loves her, with hundreds and hundreds of dogs, it keeps his business going strong. Besides there are rules regarding vet care that USDA breeders have to follow. Personally, I wouldn't service a vet that I knew supported this type of breeder.
It sounds like you have made up your mind about this puppy though. I wasn't sure if you were aware of who you are buying from.
A lot of people on this site will tell you that you buy your breeder first and that really is how it should be. The breeder should be in it only for the betterment of the breed.
