I have been worried about that. My 14 yr old has had no symptoms so far and is probably out of the woods in a few days. My 10 yr old has been improving very quickly on the doxy. The first night was rough. Even with cough medicine she coughed non-stop all night until 4:30 a.m. We finally got sleep from 4:30 to 8:30 a.m. She has not had any cough medicine for 2 days now and only coughs once or twice a day. Yay!
Snickers, my pup, coughs only occasionally and it is always when she gets excited. She is finished with Augmentin.
All in all everybody is improving!
