Should I wait to find out how he turns out before neutering him? What does everyone thing? I'm getting him on Monday when he's 8 weeks (picked him out 2 weeks ago). |
First off 8 weeks is TOO young so right off the bat I know your breeder is no good. So because he is AKC means nothing since obviously the breeder is not reputable. I'd get him neutered and enjoy him as a pet. Big deal he is AKC and as you say good characteristics. He is way to young to know if he would be a good male to use for breeding.
My male is AKC registered too and a gorgeous yorkie with champions in his line. He is neutered and being enjoyed as a pet!
Just because you have a dog that is AKC does not mean he should be bred. There goes alot into it. If you took him to shows, and championed him then maybe you could think about using him as a stud once he has passed all health testing. But do you really want to deal with the marking and all the other bad habits that come with owning a male?? I wouldn't think so!
