Can you post a picture of her? It really depends on her coat type.
My girl has a cotton coat and I do use the clippers to shave her down - a bit - but I don't shave shave her. I think I use the second largest comb guard and then I still trim her with scissors.
Max has very fine hair and I don't ever use clippers on him - just scissors.
Oops - I do use clippers on the tips of their ears, bellies, and a little place on their butts.
