I bought a GE front loading washer and dryer set 3 years ago. I was just as happy with the top loading set that I'd had for 20+ years. Not to say that the front loaders aren't good....I just don't think they're worth the extra $$$$, even though they're much more attractive. I had huge, super size drums in my top loading set, so I could wash/dry just as large of loads in them as I can with these front loaders.
The one thing I really do like about the front loaders are the pedestal drawers you can buy to stand them on - great extra storage space!
