I think that's awesome. She's clearly interested in her dog's well-being and this is a great way to get her engaged in the responsibility that it requires to properly care for a dog. IMO, children are never too young for some sort of responsibility, and she definitely sounds ready! Use it to your advantage! Are there are good books out there about caring for dogs aimed at children?
