I haven't been through this, but a few here have. Do a search for Legg-Perthes and you'll find a bunch of posts with useful info, and members that maybe you could PM and ask for their advice
Best wishes for Farrah's surgery. The dogs I've read about here have done very well after their healing periods are over, so try to remain positive that your baby will be okay too
