Default Hiking

Hey all, just wondering how well these guy's tend to do on hikes? I'm going for one with friends Monday that is supposed to be 4 hours with a break somewhere in the 2 hour range. I'll be bringing a backpack carrier for him just in case he does get tired but I would like some input. Do you think 4 hours is too much? There are going to be some steep climbs, which obviously I can carry him through if he isn't up for it.

In addition, other than water and food what should I bring along for him? You think Nutrical would be necessary? He is 8 months old now and I've never needed it before, but you think he may need a pick me upper? What kind of mosquito repellants can I use on him, I'm getting some Off! for me, but I know that's probably no good for him...

PS I'm so excited about this hike!!!
