I am one of those people who "threw away" one dog after getting another. We recently rehomed my boston terrier. I now have a yorkie, chi and a pom. Sophie the boston is now with my mom with a fenced in yard and several more dogs more her size. She is loving the fenced yard which we don's have. She is almost 1 yr old. I knew she would be bigger than my other dogs, that is what I wanted. I thought even with my health problems I could take care of her. Then my husband found bruises on me where she would put her paws on me. He went ballistic. He said he could not let that happen and I could not handle or train a 17 lb dog. My heart is breaking esp when she is not cuddled next to me at night. My mom wanted her from the start and she treats her animals with a lot of love. I tell you this hoping I will not get blasted. In our situation my dh thought it was best. Her energy and weight was just something I could not handle. He was afraid I would refracture my back with her. I love my furbabies. I have to limit the breeds to what will hopefully be under 10 lbs. If they get bigger than that my hubby promises no more giving away.
