I'd call the vet office back, and ask one of the techs to find out from the vet what the incidence and prevalence is for lepto in YOUR area. I mean, what the heck does "very common" mean, when it comes to lepto, ya know? That doesn't mean much to me.

I wouldn't give lepto unless there was very strong proof that the risk of getting the disease FAR outweighed the risk of the vaccine itself.
