Default Advice on how to pick a training option

So I've decided it's time for some training. While I've had years of horse training experience, and my theory is great, I just am having no luck with Harley and his training.

My eventual goal is agility. Harley is fast and extremely athletic and I think we'd stand a chance in the small dog groups.

So I have two options here:
A group of trainers who I ran into at the park last night. It's $350 for 3 sessions of one on one training in obedience. He said that while Yorkies are tough to train, they CAN be trained. The sessions work different for everyone, working on your specific needs. The sessions are also at your house.

A structured group obedience class for 8 classes at 120. There is no way to know the size or skill of the dogs in this class. but it's a lot cheaper.

I think I would benefit more from the training one on one, but just don't know if I have the money. At the same time, I want to become a dog trainer, so I think this may be a good foundation...

Thoughts? I want him to still be my baby, and I want him to be a pet, but I really have a competitive side, and would love to successfully compete. So I'm torn. I know at this point we have some major obedience issues that need to be snipped at the bud.
