Its' very difficult when you deal with the public. Some days I wish I could work in a room and didn't have to see/talk to a soul. Working as a nurse, you get close to patients who have long stays and long illnesses. One case, for example, was a patient and family the majority of the nurses got really close to. The patient went into cardiac arrest and no matter what we did it was no use. The entire staff was upset and not handling it well. Don't you know another patient came to the hallway outside the room complaining about the "service in this hospital" and threatening to write a letter to the CEO. I have been called nasty things like b--ch by patients who have had too much to drink and fat ( I weighed 122 at the time .) It's not easy.
