I think a second dog is ALWYAS a good thing b/c they can keep each other company and can play and do all the doggie things we can't understand...
Did you look at this rescue already? Rescue Me Yorkie RescueWe got our Maggie from them and they are very reputable. Their dogs are not on Petfinder, though...
