It's illegal in this province (NS) to dock a tail. Vets can't perform the proceedure without risk of a HUGE fine. So if a breeder wants to follow the standard they have to do it themselves. My breeder is stuck trying to decide what to do now, cause she doesn't want to do the procedure herself, but may have to learn. I know I couldn't do it, I'm too squeamish |
Thats right, the Yorkshire Terrier were orgionally bred to be "ratters" down the mines in Yorkshire, England which is why they used to have docked tails
