I didn't take it as being rude. You just stated that it looked odd to you, and I can understand that. When you are used to seeing something a certain way, any deviation may look a little strange until you get used to it. I thought cocker spaniels with long tails looked weird until I got to know one- now I think they look kind of bare with out the flag flying.
