Thank you all...and thanks to my teenage son for alerting me so quickly that something was very wrong. Mozart (my fur-baby) was hiding his bloody vomit/diarrhea in a back bathroom, and my son discovered it while I was at work. It's a dogs natural instinct to hide when wounded or weak (according to my vet), so 'prey' cannot harm them. For this healthy robust 7 yr old Yorkie, it was a mere 6 hours from first onset to full blown shock from blood loss/dehydration. One my vet stabilized him and had 2 IV's lines running strong, we slung the IV bag over my shoulder and off my pup and I headed for the major animal hospital for direct admission. We were very fortunate...praise the Lord.
