It's funny that you say she rubbed you the wrong way, because I was kind of thinking that by the way you relayed the conversation.
Just her reaction about a "trial period" and the money part of it.
If I HAD to re-home my beloved pet after having him almost a year. First of all I would be devastated and I would be extremely concerned about where he went and what kind of family, etc.. I would certainly have questions!
These kinds of decisions are always hard. I know you seem really concerned about having the boys get along and that's important.
As far as price that's a subjective thing. He's neutered, a year old and a teapot!
Which is great & what you are looking for, but not everyone looking for a Yorkie is looking for that and would be willing to pay that. So it's just a personal call on that!
