Ok I'm sure everyone is getting tired of my horse analogies, but I agree with this post. If I were buying a dog, from someone I didn't know (ie not a breeder) a trial would be perfect. How we would do it with horses, is suggest a non-refundable deposit and give a postdated cheque for the end of the week. see if they'll let you take Marco for a week, then you can have him vetted by your vet if you wish, learn about his temperment and see if Jackson likes him. At the end of the week call and either arrange to bring him back or tell her to cash the cheque. BUT beware... you have to not allow yourself to get attached to the new guy until you know it's right. This ad tells me the woman wants her baby to go to a good home, so if you don't take him someone else great will!
