Exactly! Terriers, in general, are more independent thinkers and more along the lines of "I'll do it, but what's in it for me?!" lol. It makes sense to me because terriers were bred to work independently under ground with the rodents, whereas the Border Collie's, GSD's, etc were specifically bred to work WITH their people, and please them. I think you just have to find what motivates your terrier moreso than other dogs. If I were to ask Jackson to do a trick without a treat in my hand... he usually looks at me as if I'm crazy lol. He'll do multiple tricks for just one little treat, but not for no treats or at least a toy.
