Default Warning to all Yorkie Mom's (and Dad's) HGE

Warning to my Yorkie friends...this syndrome nearly took my 6 yr old Yorkie boy from me:
Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) The onset of HGE is usually very quick/immediate, with no previous warning signs and occurs in healthy young dogs. If you suspect your pet may have HGE, seek veterinary attention immediately. Because there is no known cause of the synd...rome, there are no preventative measures that can be recommended in these patients.

Cant stress enough QUICK action is necessary......my lil' guy was in shock from bleeding out just a few hours into this disorder. He spent 3 nights in intensive care at our local animal hospital, and the whole ordeal left us all in a tailspin. A seemingly healthy young dog can lose his life in hours with this condition. Thank the Lord, he's home this evening, on 5 medications round the clock...but grateful he survived!
