The amoxicillin is a safe antibiotic so she should do okay on that. As for the eating, my feelings are that is it important to keep the mom on the same basic diet she was on during pregnancy. The only thing I do different is I start giving them a little more canned food mixed with their dry puppy food once they have puppies. I like canned Pedigree puppy food or canned Pedigree Healthy Digestion. I will hand feed my mommas the first few days since they don't like leaving the whelping box that much. If you start feeding them a lot of foods they are not use to then it can upset their digestive system. I will give my mommas Nutri-cal a couple times a day until their appetite picks up. I also give them 1/2 of a Doc Roy's Healthy Bone twice a day once they have their pups. I make sure the momma eats about 4 good meals a day, the last meal is around 10 p.m. I think your momma just needs some time to recovery from her c-section, she has been through a lot. It sounds like you have everything pretty much under control. I hope the momma starts feeling better and I hope the babies continue to do well.
