What antibiotic did the vet put your momma on? Some antibiotics will effect their appetite and also cause them stomach problems. The momma should be given a probiotic supplement like Bene-bac since she is on antibiotics. You really need to try everything possible to get the momma do eat some solid dog food. Just giving her the puppy formula could cause her to get diarrhea again. What dog food was she on prior to having puppies? |
the antibiotic is amoxicillin shes been on it since friday ,but piror to that she was not eating well normally she is my all ways starving girl she would eat what ever we gave her now nothing is working and belive me i have tried almost everything baby food c cheese srammbled egg, boiled chicken cooked with rice and carrots and a variety of puppy foods as well as her regular dog food it arican for dogs and puppys .she is drinking fairly well and will take nibbles of some things i also did something i said i would never do i got her a burger pattie and gave her some of the meat she did eat a bit .she has had a normal poop real small but looked fine shes peeing alright .the vet says it probaly is a bit of everything c section then losing a pup then infection , we are keeping a very watchful eye on her .pup is doing good he is gaining little at a time and never crys i have to really watch my clock so he doesnt miss any feeds he gets what he can from mom and then i give him formula he is a real good little eater so im sure that all will be fine im just a real worry wort when it comes to my fur babys
