NO they are not the same breed. There is a breed called Silky Terriers. And then there are Yorkshire Terriers. Often times ppl confuse the two, not in the least part because Yorkies have silky coats
If you go to the Kennel Clubs site, you are in England right? you can look up some pics of the two different breeds, and gain a better understanding.
In terms of what your breeder said, I'm sorry but that is hogwash. There is something else going on. Look at your papers and see the registered names of sire and dam.
